Metorik VS Build with Square

I'd advise just starting off with a basic Wordpress/Woocommerce, just buy a decent theme and good hosting, the rest of the setup won't be that much more work than setting everything up on another platform, as you say it doesn't need to be perfect, just work. While the API itself is lacking some of what I'd consider "core" functionality (especially their new Bookings API), the squareup api is actually really nice to work with. Their documentation experience / code playground is incredible. it's super empathetic to the developer experience and they clearly place a ton of value in that. also, echoing everyone else here that stripe and twilio have some bangin' apis and docs.
