Merlin is your AI executive assistant—built to think like a Chief of Staff and act with the precision of a trusted team member. In a world where professionals are drowning in digital noise, Merlin brings clarity and focus to your day by identifying your highest-impact priorities across Gmail, Google Calendar, and Slack, and helping you complete them with a single click.
Here’s how it works: each morning, before you even open your laptop, Merlin has already scanned your inbox, reviewed your calendar, and mapped out a clear, prioritized plan for your day. It flags urgent emails, drafts responses in your voice, accepts or declines meeting invites based on your goals, and surfaces tasks that align with your key projects. If there’s a time-sensitive item from your team or an investor, it brings it front and center—not buried beneath newsletters or calendar clutter.
Unlike a standard automation tool or productivity app, Merlin goes beyond organization. It proactively moves things forward. Whether it’s booking a meeting, chasing a follow-up, or clearing an action item, Merlin anticipates what needs to happen—and makes it happen—with minimal input from you.
As you use Merlin, it gets smarter. It learns your writing tone, how quickly you like to respond to certain types of messages, and your preferred work rhythm. Over time, Merlin becomes more autonomous, handling routine decisions and tasks just like a human Chief of Staff would—freeing you up to focus on deep work, strategy, and leadership.
Merlin isn’t just an assistant. It’s the new operating system for your professional life—purpose-built for startup founders, executives, and high-performing individuals who want more leverage without more management.

Merlin Computer's answer
Merlin isn’t just a productivity tool—it’s an AI Chief of Staff. Unlike tools that organize tasks or optimize scheduling, Merlin actively prioritizes your most important emails, meetings, and tasks, and helps you act on them instantly. It combines AI prioritization, execution, and context-awareness in one seamless experience.

Competitors like Superhuman or Motion optimize pieces of your workflow. Merlin goes further by syncing your inbox, calendar, and Slack, then using AI to decide what truly matters—and acting on it for you. It doesn’t just speed up work; it removes work. You don’t need to command it. Merlin just knows.
Merlin Computer's answer
Our core users are startup founders, solo operators, and busy professionals who need leverage, not another tool. These are high-output individuals who want fewer decisions, less context-switching, and more time spent on what actually moves the needle.
Merlin Computer's answer
Merlin was born from firsthand frustration. As a solo founder juggling investor emails, product deadlines, and back-to-back meetings, I hit a breaking point. I didn’t need another task manager—I needed something that thought like me and could make decisions on my behalf. That’s when I started building Merlin.

Thank you for the list - I think I've come across all of these in my research! I'll try highlight the differences for each. - https://noteable.io/ - as you say, it doesn't exist anymore - https://deepnote.com - I actually mentioned this in the post but in my experience, the UX and features far behind what we've built already. I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried jupyter-ai to give us a shot and let me know... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago

We looked into many of these issues with Deepnote (YC S19) [https://deepnote.com/]. What we found is that these are not necessarily problems of the underlying medium (a notebook), but more of the specific implementation (Jupyter). We've seen a lot of progress in the Jupyter ecosystem, but unfortunately almost none in the areas you mentioned. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
