  • Tried to update and shut down my PC and now I get this. What's the deal?
It comes in either a bootable ISO or an EFI file. I'd recommend putting Ventoy on a flash drive and loading either the EFI file (listed as "Binary Files" on the page) or "Linux ISO w/ Grub" versions from that. This will wipe the flash drive, but you can just drag and drop ISOs or whatever into a folder and boot them without something like Rufus or Etcher. It's quite nice to have on hand either way for things like... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Got some questions about system stability
I've been having some weird issues such as Discord restarting itself and browser tabs crashing randomly. Originally I thought I was having some issue with Electron related programs, but the more I Google the more I see "test the ram" so I finally did. For context, my hesitation on testing ram is I haven't had a game crash or act weird once, outside of normal Linux things (Pop!_OS), it's just been browsers and... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Ideapad 3 (15) resets (reboots) randomly when is charged
But now I think I've found the source of the problem. I've been using memtest (this app) to see if there is a problem with the ram, and checking cpu temperatures with Core Temp if there was an overheating problem. And everything looks normal, the laptop didn't reset, there was no blue screen and the screen didn't go black... Until I plugged the charger cuz the batery was running out and then the laptop goes black... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • RAM issue
Use this piece of software to test out your ram. Try running it for a few hours or overnight, you shouldn't get any error's even if you run it for days. Try one stick at a time to check if they are fine. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Can someone help me with this?
Run a ram stress test, ram error's tend to be very unpredictable and could be the cause of this(I use this). Source: almost 2 years ago
  • I need Help finding additional RAM set that "works well" with my current RAM.
You can run stress tests on the memory to see if there are any instability issues. I like HCI Memtest because it's so darn simple, https://hcidesign.com/memtest/, but there are better options that are a bit more involved. MemTest86, I believe (haven't used it in ages).
