You have lots of options when choosing MMS or AMS. From Wild Apricot to Member Clicks, or Personify - all viable options. But if you need to scale to hundreds of thousands of members, have recurring memberships, organizational memberships and need full features of seasoned large scale enterprise AMS, it’s possible you might hit some limits with new kids on the block. Proprietary vendors are companies first and communities second. Tendenci is community first, and yes, there is a small company behind it. Probably the best - and in the long run easiest - is to set up a membership solution that has different levels, something like this - https://memberpress.com/, thats a bit more work in the start, but after that its nearly automatic, where each member only has their own password, log in, and get access to the materials they have purchased. It sounds like membership really is a good idea. Two plugins that I think would work for you (since you want to sell access) would be the pro version of Easy Digital Downloads (https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-digital-downloads/) or MemberPress (https://memberpress.com) which also offers membership to downloads. Both those plugins can handle most of your requirements including membership, sales, limiting... Source: over 1 year ago
