  • I'm 30 and I want to learn mathematics. Where should I start? Books / Udemy Courses?
Https://mathworld.wolfram.com/ is great for defining things. Their explanation as to why square roots are only positive (or why we only use the principal square root even though its plausible that we could use negative and positive) is my favorite. Hopefully I stated that correctly but in case not here's the link https://mathworld.wolfram.com/PrincipalSquareRoot.html. Source: 6 months ago

Khan Academy is great and covers many subjects. Quindew, Read Theory, and Read Works cover reading comprehension. School Yourself, Mathigon, and Wolfram MathWorld cover math. Just to add to what’ already been said, Bessel functions are typically considered to be special functions. This term describes functions that aren’t elementary, but have a lot og uses/show up in lots of contexts, and generally are considered to have “nice” properties. Source: about 1 year ago
  • [Q] how to read stats textbook in < 3 weeks
I think you would benefit greatly from reading a section and highlighting concepts you don't understand and look them up in Mathworld, it will help with definitions of specific things. After each section it may also help to look at implementations of these in the programming language you are using whether it be python with tensorflow or C etc. Source: over 1 year ago
