Get a Kill-A-Watt, or something similar and start seeing how much power those things draw. My mini fridge uses about 400 watts per day. Rather than getting a coffee pot, get a french press and a good thermos. And instead of the tv and dvd player, can you just have a couple of tablets instead? They use far less power.
