  • Need help regarding university project
Hi. I would be happy to help. You probably want to check out MapMap. Its free projection mapping software. I haven't used it but I hear good things. You can check out my work at www.youtube.com/@Enlightenedmonkeyarts. If after taking a look you still want help, I prefer phone or Zoom. Send me a message and we will set it up. • Video/Display question
There are lots of options for this type of video playback, but most are paid software (resolume arena/avenue, playback pro, PVP etc...). I'm sure I've forgotten some free options, but you could have a look at mapmap if that would work for you. Source: over 1 year ago
  • wedding mapping projection (on a budget)
You can use open source projection mapping software, like MapMap, it can be a bit unstable but I have successfully used it for Halloween, even tough I usually use Resolume: https://mapmapteam.github.io/. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Free mapping software?
MapMap is open source, in my experience it can crash from time to time but was suitable for some basic Halloween projection Mapping: https://mapmapteam.github.io/. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Good free projection/sfx software?
MapMap is one. Another more advanced, and more complicated one is Splash if you're willing to use Ubuntu/Linux or run Windows Insider with WSL. Source: about 3 years ago

  • What are you rewriting in rust?
I'm writing a Rust digital signage player very heavily influenced by info-beamer, with a focus more on local intranet control: https://github.com/superlou/signrs. You develop a signage application in JavaScript with drawing functions, and the player runs it cross-platform (including Raspberry Pi), and provides a web server for remote control. • Godot 3.5.2 on Raspberry Pi 3B < 20 FPS
I am trying to port a digital signage application I built on info-beamer to Godot. The application is expected to run full-screen on a set of Raspberry Pi 3Bs (at least until Pi 4s are back in stock), preferably with 1600x900 px resolution or better since the application is mostly drawing text. • A friend of mine set up these TVs in his bar, where they sometimes show live TV. How can we get rotated content to play across all of the screens together?
I would suggest you check out info-beamer.com and trueomni.com . I am using info-beamer on several displays in commercial situations and it has worked well. I haven't tried rotating to an angle but you should be able to map the screens as if they are level and play the content across them all. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Local BBQ chain. Simple menu display.
You might also try out info-beamer (full disclosure: operated by my company) if you have 30 minutes of spare time. Unlike pisignage and yodeck, it's not based on Raspberry Pi OS and implements some reliability features they cannot easily add like: Complete OS image verified every boot to detect any corruption, OS always read-only even during OS upgrades thanks to A/B booting, 100% power loss safe and highly...
