Mailtrap.io — Fake SMTP server for development, free plan with one inbox, 100 messages, no team member, two emails/second, no forward rules. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Sometimes you need to get email working in your dev environments without the headache of setting up PHP’s mailer. WP Mail makes setting up email a straightforward process with its wizard. I like to use Mailtrap.io for email testing. A single testing inbox is free and works with WP Mail with the SMTP settings. Using this plugin will ensure that emails sent from your site, such as password resets, will be delivered. - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
We will use Mailtrap as our SMTP server, responsible to deliver emails. Wait✋! Why Mailtrap? Mailtrap is not a transactional email delivery system, instead, it is a fake SMTP server. This means Mailtrap's SMTP server will receive emails from our NodeJs application and emulate sending without actual delivery. This service is ideal to test and view emails we send without spamming real recipients or flooding your... - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
Now, let’s take a look at a regular SMTP session between the client and the server. For this, we’ll use the fake SMTP server by Mailtrap and one of the most common tools for testing – Telnet. We’ve already blogged about how to use it in How to Test SMTP Server. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
Mailtrap.io represents a cloud-based email testing service with a fake SMTP server under the hood. You send test emails from your app and Mailtrap catches and puts them into a virtual inbox. You can be sure that none of the emails will get to a real user. Additionally, you can preview the content of the emails, check them for spam and much more. EtherealMail - Ethereal is a fake SMTP service, mainly aimed at Nodemailer and EmailEngine users (but not limited to). It's an entirely free anti-transactional email service where messages never get delivered. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
Since this is node subreddit, I would suggest you use nodemailer. You can create a free account on https://ethereal.email to test with, then when you are ready to go, sign up with whichever transactional mail service you choose (there will likely be a nodemailer extension for it, or it will just print vide SMTP creds to add to nodemailer) and update the config in your app. Source: 11 months ago
Almost positive the path to the file is correct. I tried with the code you see in the link and also tried specifying the absolute path and neither worked. I tried in mailtrap and I also tried with ethereal.email. Source: about 2 years ago
If you want to see the messages being caught, then instead of creating a test account in the function, go to Ethereal and click Create Ethereal Account. Then plug the username and password in. You can then visit the inbox for that account and see everything that was caught. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
Be sure to grab the config from your test email account, or use: https://ethereal.email. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
