What is Mail Relay?

Mail Relay is Privacy Portal's email privacy service. It enables you to hide your personal email from third-parties, thus protecting your identity online and helping you reduce your digital footprint.

With Mail Relay, you can easily create “Privacy Addresses” that forward emails to your personal inbox. These addresses are safe to share with third-parties and can be disabled at any point in time, giving you full control over spam and unsolicited mail.

Privacy Addresses seamlessly integrate with your usual email workflow. You receive emails straight to your personal inbox and you can reply just as you normally do using your preferred email app. Mail Relay takes care of hiding your identity and protecting you against metadata leaks.

With Enhanced Protection, you can also protect your emails from prying eyes. Mail Relay allows you to encrypt all incoming mail before relaying it to your personal email. Your email provider will no longer have the ability to read your emails. Only you can decrypt emails on-device, protecting you from being a target for advertisers and data brokers.

  1. Great for privacy

I installed this app a few days ago along with the chrome extension (on brave browser). It's very simple and works well. I have a proton account so I set it up to encrypt all my emails with my proton PGP public key.

    👍 Pros:    No logs|Brave extension|Pgp encryption

  • Everyone Wants Your Email Address. Think Twice Before Sharing It
Firefox Relay is a handy assistant to at least stymie email tracking and is neatly integrated with the browser. The free tier gets you a few masked emails that forward to your actual inbox. You can't reply through the masked email without paying, but that might not be necessary for all. It feels like retaining some semblance of privacy is a losing battle. That isn't alarmist, but almost all privacy features in Brave are already in Firefox as well. > In a sense, it sounds like the advice of the services is less subscribing to them than trying not to have a few e-mails that map to your personal identity.
