Get the official premiere online client, MTG Arena. You can start playing there for free and grind up a collection, and then decide from there where you want to go - more IRL casual stuff like Commander, more competitive play, limited play with sealed product, whatever. If you do not want to spend money on gems in Clash of Clans, you can get more resources by using cheats and hacks. You can use a hack to get unlimited gems and develop your village as much as you want. This is a good alternative to spending money in the game store.
