  • Cleaning up photo library, best ways to get rid 'duplicates' and stuff I don't want to keep?
There is a commercial solution called Gemini 2 from MacPaw that you might check out. I've been testing it and it's pretty straightforward and can be used to identify dupes that you then manually check too: http://macpaw.com/gemini/. Source: 12 months ago
  • Best way to identify and delete duplicate photos/videos?
Have used 'Gemini 2' on Mac (via mounted shares) with reasonable success. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Advice Needed: Completely redo my iTunes library.
If you are looking for deleting duplicate files, Gemini 2 has been solid for me. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Installed and Unistalled CleanMyMac X
In fact, I was recently looking for an app to help me detect duplicates in Apple Photos after thousands of images accidentally got merged into my library, and discovered Gemini 2 through a Google search, not Mac Paw pushing it on me. Now that app may be advertised in CleanMyMac X somewhere, but I'd never seen it before. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Library backup
You could try opening the library with PowerPhotos, a commercial app that can manage multiple Photos libraries, to see if it can read it. You could also try my free open source command line tool, osxphotos. Install it then run this command in the Terminal: osxphotos info --library /path/to/the/library This should print out a list of information about the library: number of photos, number of albums, keywords in... • iCloud and iPhone photo and video storage
On a Mac you could also use something like Power Photos to manage multiple libraries and keep the videos on a local-only (no iCloud sync) library. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Need help with EXIF data (I think...)
If you don't want to mess with the command line, there's a third part PowerPhotos app that might help but I'm not very familiar with it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • I was looking for free versions of Lightroom and finalcut pro in my macbook pro. can anyone help me where to find it.?
Apertue was built from Photos but given the interface of Final Cut Pro. Apple dropped Aperture and rebuilt Photos to include features from Aperture such as Metadata, Folders, Keyword Management, Edit Tools, and Raw photos. Typical to Apple, Photos has slowly improved over time. Photos now has Duplicate finding and merge, so I no longer need to use PowerPhotos. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there an app that can pull photos AI metadata from apple photos?
PowerPhotos will let you analyze Photo databases to see what are the keywords that were added by the user as well as review many other details of metadata. I’ve used PowerPhotos to mange Photos databases of several terabytes that required a NAS. Source: over 2 years ago
