MacDown VS NovelPad

I write a LOT of documentation in Markdown for $DAYJOB. I normally use Marked2 (not free, but I paid for my license 7-8 years ago) or MacDown (free) to preview them, and to export them to PDF. Both of these programs are specific to macOS, but a web search for "markdown editor" turns up a few dozen others, for other platforms. So I convert the PDF to Markdown format. Then I use my Markdown editor of choice, Macdown, to clean up the text and then convert the resulting document into the format that I want. Source: over 1 year ago

Keep notes about your characters, plot, locations, etc. Whether you do this as a separate Word or Docs document, or invest in a program like scrivener, dabble, or what I use, novelpad.co, you will save yourself a lot of grief when you need to remember who was where when and why. Take notes about your characters, settings, etc. Whether you do it on index cards, a notebook, in your word processor, or writing program (I'm a big fan of the organization process in novelpad.co). This will help you avoid most continuity errors while you write. Source: over 2 years ago

I'm using NovelPad. I usually use Scrivener, but I discovered NovelPad and like it's simple, clean interface. It's free (I bought the upgrade, but to be honest, I don't know what the advantage is) and you don't have to download it. Source: over 2 years ago
