If you are open to svg based gifs, it is so much easier. SVG is a far different image technology than bitmap. There are no issues with the ghosted edges and it will be crisp at any size. Because it is actually code and not pixels, you can even change a lot of it after it is made. I have 2 SVG files that I want animated and turned into a GIF, the site https://svgartista.net/ doesn't allow exporting as SVG. It's a shame because this is doing exactly what I need. I tried svgator but that could not open up my SVG files on that site, which is annoying.
