If you show them that you can identify value that they need created and can create it, you take a lot of that work off of their plate.   3.The only way I've come across to document the amount of time spent is to use timesheets or time tracking softwares. Some examples of time tracking softwares are Toggl, Hubstaff, and Time Doctor.
