  • What's a really niche tool you use that you can't live without?
I want to see tools most of us have never heard or even thought of. Extractors for obscure websites or websites we don't think of in terms of extractors like megatools or Mediafire Bulk Downloader. "Glue" tools like rclone's serve command (as well as the rest of rclone) and lftp that makes stuff work together easier. Phone apps like FE File Explorer Pro (sadly the free version seems to be gone) that makes... Source: 12 months ago
  • Zsync – Rsync over HTTP
Sounds a bit similar to lftp[1]. While I don't think it supports updates of compressed files, it doesn't rely on a meta-file and also supports a range of other protocols. You can essentially just point it at a website, directory index, ftp server, torrent etc. And it will let you browse the files, create mirros or update local files. • ftp only images from a directory tree
I think you could accomplish this using lftp's mirror command with the --only-newer and --include-glob options. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Sending files to an FTP server off a DSLR
Yeah, you can drive the camera with a raspi and libgphoto2. You can sync the captured images via FTP using lftp. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Emulator images for Samsung devices?
Your best option are probably real device testing sites like e.g. https://saucelabs.com/. Source: 12 months ago
  • Simulate your website across many devices all in the same browser tab! Proof of concept for a micro saas I'm building in public :)
There are service like this one. https://saucelabs.com/ is one. There used to be browser plugins to simulate a different browser. But as we found out over time: simulates devices aren't true to the real thing, so often you'll just simply run into problems in the simulated device ce that don't occur on the real device, or vice versa. • Tool for app testing?!
If so, check out Sauce Labs' Sauce Connect Proxy -- it's a built-in HTTP proxy server that opens a secure tunnel connection for testing between a Sauce Labs virtual machine or a real device and a website or a mobile app hosted on your local computer (localhost) or behind a corporate firewall. • TestProject is closing down
But it also meant that the only option to run your tests was to use your localhost or to connect to a third party cross-browser cloud provider (BrowserStack, SauceLabs, etc). - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
