  • Questions regarding an LLC
Recently I was reached out to by former IT client that I worked with at a previous employer regarding hiring my services since they have left my prior MSP. After speaking with this client who is relativity small, they would be willing to work with myself and a college. This would be a side business that is not related to my main employment. From working with MSP's I know a huge topic is liability, since I will be... Source: 9 months ago
  • Offered to be published in someone’s book, but not sure how to proceed.
2 - A licensing agreement (https://legaltemplates.net/) - Create one where they are allowed to publish it in this one book but you retain all future publishing rights. They can use it for 'free' this time but any uses outside this book they would have to get approval for (can then leverage this for $$ if worth it). Make sure they note the copyright in the credits! This way you are protected if the image is... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Contracts. When, where and how much?
You can also find sites with Templates that you can fill in like legaltemplates.net. They have a Licensing Agreement template that also covers Billing. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Some people should have just died
You don't need a lawyer. Or any money, unless you want to pay a notary to witness it (and your bank won't do it for free - most will!). Source: over 2 years ago
  • How Many Ideas Are You Sitting On?
Could you please be kind enough to inform me if you live in the US and if so, in which state? According to https://legaltemplates.net/ it's different regarding the state and I need to know it to send you a cease and desist letter. Thanks in advance and have a fantastic day! :). • Ask HN: Standard Founders Agreement Template?
There is a YC Backed company [0] that does this for you. Could be worth a look [0] https://clerky.com I would recommend using soemthing from clerky and then getting your own lawyers involved to really nail this down further. - Source: Hacker News / 3 months ago
  • Thinking of starting a side project/business while employed, should I incorporate now or wait to start making money?
Yeah, just call it a proprietorship until you have a solid reason to incorporate. (i.e. Angel investment and / or liability protection.) Then when you do choose to incorporate, check out clerky.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Do I create the company first or do the IDO sale?
US guy here (not a lawyer), definitely set up the company first and have written stuff in place for what each founder/dev gets. Team disagreements over a multi-sig or distribution can be a killer and are likely going to be your main issue. Also having a corporate entity (even an LLC) shields you from a lot of liability in the case of a bug or funds lost on behalf of users. You can use even an online service... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Looking for Legal Counsel for my Startup (also CPA)
I'm currently looking at several lawfirms, such as Goodwin Procter. I'm also aware of a platform for startups legalwork, clerky.com, but I want to bring on my own attorney through it. Anyone have any resources or recommendations? Source: almost 3 years ago
