"Regular" people don't really need FFMPEG. Regular people need tools with GUIs that have a non-generic purpose. So stuff like https://kdenlive.org/en/ that are backed by ffmpeg are (imo) superior "regular" person tools. According to alanwake.com Xbox One runs at 900p / 30fps. So better visuals and slightly higher resolution than the original, and the enhanced cinematics.
