Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

How would you describe your primary audience?

Individuals and professionals who need to convert images to PDFs without uploading sensitive files to third-party servers. Lawyers, doctors, accountants and anyone handling confidential documents. Corporate users who need quick, no-hassle PDF conversion on work devices. People using smartphones to snap photos of documents and needing an instant PDF conversion without an app. Travelers digitizing boarding passes, IDs or expense receipts. Graphic designers, photographers and marketers organizing image-based portfolios into PDFs. Writers and bloggers compiling digital content into shareable PDF formats. Developers, engineers and DIY users who value speed, simplicity and privacy. People who prefer clean, ad-free and hassle-free tools over bloated alternatives. Anyone who occasionally needs to merge images into a PDF but doesn't want to install software or deal with online storage risks.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Safe2PDF.com's answer:

You, of course!

What's the story behind your product?

Safe2PDF.com's answer:

Safe2PDF.com was born out of a personal double-frustration of mine. After proposing to my now fiance in September 2024, I started working towards setting up our wedding. So I had to send over some personal documents containing highly sensitive personal information to the government.

I went over dozens of online PDF converters but none of them were private or secure in any way. I could either upload files to distant servers in who-knows-where or deploy hidden tracking junk and have my sensitive information leak, get analyzed & commoditized somewhere.

Having suffered all my life from very severe OCD, I started obsessing over this annoying problem in life and decided not to mail the wedding documents until I solved it. I decided to create a truly local PDF tool, where all file conversions happen in the user's browser, ensuring no data ever leaves your device.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Safe2PDF.com's answer:

We use trusted open source libraries (PDF.js, PDF-Lib, Sortable, Alpine JS.). Safe2PDF.com is in itself inherently open source. For your privacy and our peace of mind, we rely on Plausible for collecting only basic anonymous behavior patterns. Your data isn't harvested and traded like bread.

  • I wrote a short guide on how to use KCC, EpubMerge, and Calibre for viewing Manga on Kindle.
KCC supports PDF but if it's too complex it won't work, according to the Wiki -- I would imagine if each page is an image it'll work just fine, but I can't guarantee the formatting. Just for fun, I converted one standalone image to PDF using this, then used KCC to convert to EPUB and it was able to import into Calibre with no issue. Source: over 2 years ago
