If it's a photo your girls took whilst location was enabled on their phone, you might be able to check the metadata of the photo. To be upfront, though, most modern phones tend to scrub this information, so it would be quite a long shot. You could try uploading a photo on a site like this: https://jimpl.com/ or this https://pixelpeeper.com/app and see how you go. Source: 10 months ago
  • Image Metadata Question

  • Need assistance with Google photo / Google takeout
If you’re using Windows you can sort the folders by Date Taken or use a tool like NameExif to rename your photos by the date taken in 2023-06-20 12:00 format so they sort correctly. Source: 11 months ago

  • Not a professional - What's the best way to organise photo/video captures of life in general?
I used NameExif https://us.digicamsoft.com/softnamexif.html first to rename all my files into created YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS-[event (optional)], then ran exifsort to move them all into YYYY-MM folders. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there a way to export photos from google photos to pc and keep the original date and time?
The Date Taken data should be preserved which is more important than the file date. You can sort your folders by Date Taken or what I do is use NameExif to rename my photos by date/time taken, which means they’ll always sort correctly and the info can never be accidentally lost. • Downloading Google photos/vids to PC
Alternatively what I do is rename my pictures by the date taken so they sort chronologically by file name using an app called Name Exif. Source: almost 2 years ago
