  • Decentralized media Made easy
When I click on https://synapsemedia.io/ I get redirected to a link like https://ipfs.io/ipns/synapsemedia.io (to use ipfs.io instead of my local node). Source: about 1 year ago

  • How to host an encrypted page
In case of you don't trust them, it gets harder. Especially if you need to have it hosted without any trace to yourself. I'd probably pay a service to store my data on ipfs. You can pay with crypto. But I'm this case there's the question, how will you be able to access it. My thought would be to have a [tails][tails] USB with the necessary software. • Not sure if I this is safe to click so I can download this book. Are you supposed to just click the “GET” button?
I never click GET button, don't even know what it does tbh XD Those four buttons are for choosing which IPFS gateway you want to use. By default I use ipfs.io, if ipfs.io is down then I click the Cloudflare one. General rule is that you pick one gateway if it does not work then another one and so on. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Excuse my ignorance but how can we lend bitcoin? Like if Bitcoin were to vaporize the dollar and bank, how would Bitcoin be lent out for a mortgage for example?
Https://stacks.co is building smart contracts through a separate blockchain which reads and writes to the main bitcoin blockchain. There are others too. These higher expression layers will allow bitcoin to be used in finance with reduced counterparty risk. Bitcoin is money. Please don’t FOMO into any of these projects; just put a few sats in; see how they work / don’t work. Beta testing mentality. These other... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Deconstructing the sBTC whitepaper,a design of a trustless 2-way peg for Bitcoin
TLDR: The sBTC whitepaper proposes Stacks[1] and sBTC[2] as layer-two mechanism for unlocking defi (DEXs, NFTs, and other dapps, etc.) on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. I've started deconstructing and analyzing it in relation to what it means for both Bitcoin and Stacks. Stake (they call it stack) Stacks and get paid in either BTC or STX (stacks.co). No trust needed - as you keep your coins in your own wallet and delegate them like you do with Tezos. Source: about 2 years ago
