  I believe iCloud is for backing up and syncing iDevices. He (your friend/family?) can configure what is, or is not, backed up to iCloud. He could, for example, remove photos from being backed up if he would prefer to reduce the amount of space needed.   If you want something more specific for client proofing, Picflow is AWESOME for this. It allows clients to draw and comment on photos to more specifically show you want they want fixed.
