  Go to healthcare.gov and see if you qualify for insurance. Maximum out of pocket depends on the type of plan you pick and what it covers. If you don't qualify through healthcare.gov, you will need to buy insurance on your own which could be quite expensive. Source: 5 months ago

  You can still get it done without insurance, it's just really expensive. It will be thousands of dollars cheaper to get insurance for a year or so and have the surgery covered than to try and pay for it out of pocket, so it's worth maybe getting insurance.   Psychiatrist - You can refuse the treatment options they offer and ask for alternatives, or suggest your own. You should tell this psych, if you decide to keep them, that the side effects from the meds are too strong and you do not like them.
