Comically, when I google hackernews or even "Hacker News" I often get the other Hacker news first. Finding my preferred UI https://hckrnews.com/ that's not even in the first page of results. Two things that changed my life: (1) https://serializer.io/ to read HN. It shows the top list in a way that lets you mark all as read. If I check it too often, it just shows all posts as read because they are. Simple and brilliant. (2) iOS Automation Shortcut starts a 9 minute timer when I open twitter or Instagram. If you're a fan of the noprocrast flag, I'll also recommend reading HN through https://serializer.io/ which shows you only what's new on the top list since you last visited. It lets you "clear" HN much faster and helps you avoid burning another 20 minutes reading threads you've already read.
