If the recovery partition is between them you will have to move the recovery partition into the empty space using something like Gparted on a USB stick and then expand the C partition with disk partition or easeUS. Source: about 1 year ago

In order to extend a partition, the unallocated space must immediately follow the partition. If there's something between the partition and the unallocated space, then you'll need to use a more sophisticated partition manager to rearrange things. GParted can do this, for example.
