I like BaseX for XML processing. It does require a "server" install - it's fairly lightweight tho. Source: over 1 year ago

When doing XML work, always use XPath based tools. Have a look at https://basex.org. Then lookup some XPath docs. You will need to select the nodes by ID and then compare their content. Something like:. Source: about 2 years ago
