I use https://goplayalong.com/ . It does not have all the bells and whistles of soundslice, but it lets you sync guitar pro tracks to mp3's and it is just a one-off purchase of 30 bucks instead of monthly subscriptions. Source: about 2 years ago

As far as open-source software is concerned, you can use Lilypond [1]. Fully text-based transcription. You can edit, insert, splice, overwrite, etc. To your heart's content in your favorite text editor and get a high-quality engraving as output.
