Far from state of the art, but… I used to have a cheap Huawei dongle connected to my desktop that I'd interact with via awful scripting gnokii¹. If you're the type of person that likes hacking up your own solutions it can be quite fun to work with. There have been significant problems with the Autrora Store in recent days. Are there actually similar alternatives? Yalp Store is not active anymore and APK downloaders (e.g. https://raccoon.onyxbits.de/) require a google account. It is possible to download certain apps via e.g. Yalp Store/APKPure etc ...
