Well, since you do have a Pi then take a look at Hypriot. /u/denzuko (my main account) is a contributor, does support via the gitter.im channel, and been using it for ages. Dead simple to use; download the ISO. Use balana etcher to burn to an SD card. Open the boot drive and drop your wpa/wifi config into /boot/user-data. I haven't used it myself, but Patook is an app that's like a dating site, but it's specifically for finding friends and platonic relationships. You might be able to find some Christian friends there. Source: about 1 year ago

Another issue is how to find new friends to have meaningful conversations with. It's difficult having to start over and build a rapport that's supposed to be a substitute for years of knowing a person, and online friendships tend to fizzle out.
