GitHub Sponsors was launched five years ago. For several years it was available only in a limited number of countries, but two years ago I could also join. I got a few sponsors, but nothing substantial came out of it. Unfortunately, your game will not get any attention if you do not advertise/market it aggressively. Services such as IndieBoost, can help with promotion.
