  • What would be your expectations on a new DdG game, if one was announced.
On an article at giantbomb.com I found this about the 2017 Arcade game. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I just helped my favorite content creator buy an Ioniq 5 through Shawn at Fred Beans Hyundai
A little off topic here but I was watching a video game stream yesterday (Giant Bomb) and one of the hosts mentioned he was going through hell trying to find a new EV. I mentioned in the chat that he should consider an Ioniq 5 and he then replied back saying that's exactly the one he was interested in! Knowing he lived in NJ I recommended he speak to Shawn at Fred Beans and I just received a msg back saying he... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • My blunt (with love) suggestions
Giantbomb faces a chicken and egg problem. Sure they can double down on the suggestions for premium that is being circulated in this thread, but then your audience size and subscription base stays relatively small. They need the subscriptions and their content to grow, and the best way to do that is not giantbomb.com in 2022: it's YouTube. Only then can you convert folks to go to the website for the premium... • "Hey, let's lighten up, have a good time, it's still fucking video games"
At the end of the day entities like Giant Bomb are comprised of two sets of things: The first is technical things like paperwork that says Giant Bomb is a company, the logo tied to it, the url giantbomb.com, etc... And the second thing is the content and people. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Cannot deploy site without a 404 error or an issue during build.
I am new to React and it feels like I run into trouble at every turn while I'm coding. Basically there's a project cloning rawg.io and in the course you build an app similar to rawg, without all the fancy features (just a project to add on a portfolio). When I first tried deploying to Vercel, the site deployed but when I opened it I get a 404 error. I figured I would try the same thing on Netlify and no luck. I... Source: 6 months ago
  • Do you use an app to record game progress and completion? What’s a user friendly site/app to use for this?
I've been using https://rawg.io/, it has a simpler interface than howlongtobeat. Source: 10 months ago
  • What steam tags should be used for this game? genre?
Go on this site: https://rawg.io/ Look up a game similar to yours, and boom you can see the actual Steam tags set by the developers. Source: 11 months ago
  • letterboxd/goodreads but for games?
I havent used all these, so your milage may vary, but I was looking for a similar thing not long ago. Https://www.backloggd.com Https://rawg.io Https://wetheplayers.com Https://www.grouvee.com/ Https://gamelib.app/explore Https://backloggery.com/ Https://playnite.link/ There's also just using a spreadsheet, or Notion with a good template. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How specific should your top tags be on steam, in practice?
Https://rawg.io/ is the only website I've found that actually shows the what tags the creators set and what order they're in. Basically just mix and match what other games like your game have done. Source: about 1 year ago
