Aternos is fine as long as you dont have too many people but a cheap paid one that runs 24/7 is ggservers.com I havent done much research on it because I was looking for a free option, but for 3 dollars you can supposedly get a server with up to 12 people with good speeds and no lag that has 24/7 live human support and you can add mods, I didnt see anything about it running 24/7 though. You can set up a server so that access to the world is constant without relying on a host player to open the world to LAN. Tutorials can be found on the wiki. You can also find server hosting sites, such as Nitrado, which can vary in price though some are free to use. Source: about 3 years ago

The easiest way is to purchase a Realm or a server via a hosting company. I've personally used Nitrado and it's decent and fairly cheap. There are also free hosting sites available, such as Aternos. Source: about 3 years ago
