There are a ton of good mid-range android units for sale at affordable prices, even new. You don’t need it to be a flagship by any stretch, just something “decent”.   Varies. There is no optimal solution. http://katiska.org/classified-ads/ does not store passwords. It stores RSA keys encrypted with symmectric crypto where "password" is used to encrypt/decrypt the actual RSA key. Basically install the app, select a password for yourself and leave it running. It is P2P messaging app, there is no central server.
