Focus on the emails that matter. Gated is the easy, free way to reduce unsolicited email and support a nonprofit you love.
Hi! There is no way to filter emails from your contact list on Gmail. i.e., if A, B, & C are in your contact list and X, Y, or Z are not, you have no way to tell Gmail, do something for any email that comes from X, Y, Z, or specifically to A, B, C
Emailgurus does that for you: It catches emails from outsiders and labels them as outsiders. You can choose the option to hide them from your inbox and archive them to check them later from the Outsiders label. Or just label them and keep them in your inbox until you feel comfortable that you're not going to miss important ones.
You have up to 50% fewer emails in your inbox; all the marketing, cold, and unsolicited emails get caught and await your verdict when you decide to deal with them.
Bonus Point: Emailgurus is open source for transparency of data policy

If you are still looking to get donations from something similar, I have gated on my email (gated.com) and it forces anyone not in your contacts trying to email you to donate to your favorite charity before the email sends through. Really a win win. Source: over 1 year ago

Last month I tried Gated, a free service that challenges unknown senders to donate to charity in order to reach my inbox, and it has made email fun again. I don't get bombarded by inbound since unknowns are sent to the gated folder, and if somebody does donate, it's usually worth my time anyways. Source: over 1 year ago
