  • Games to play through zoom!
Hey guys! I'm from Argentina, and I'm working as a video editor for a company based in Europe. Every thursday we have what is called Thursday Fiesta, which is a zoom meeting of an hour, where we speak about random things, or play games like poker, amazing race -splitted in teams by breakout rooms-, gartic, etc. One of my coworkers for example, in one of those meetings, grabbed his guitar and played some music... • Remote teams? what do you do for fun?
We do play games like gartic.io or https://smashkarts.io/, generally after our sprint retrospective if we feel like we need a break. Source: 11 months ago
  • Is there some room where ppl play without cheating and w/o drawing nasty things?
I dont generally play gartic.iobut I think there might be an option to kick the player if theyre innapropiate like a voting system. That what its like generally for other drawing games. I generally play doodlr.io which is more moderated but its generally targeted towards a younger audience plus it saves progress and wins rather than skribbl.io . Garticphone.io doesnt have any public servers other than stuff posted... Source: about 1 year ago

  • Ask HN: Best UI design courses for hackers?
I think the best practical approach for designing UIs is to download (and buy) Balsamic[0] and use that to design UIs. Cut through the nonsense of colours and pixels in the first instance and just lay things out logically and simply. [0] https://balsamiq.com. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
  • Build Products that don’t SUCK
Create a low-fidelity mockup or wireframe of your MVP using tools like Balsamiq, Sketch, or Figma. Or use an easier-to-use tool like Uizard, which also has text-to-design capabilities. Source: 9 months ago
  • Starting Design Work in a Spreadsheet
Just for drawing mock app screens, I have found Balsamiq[0] to be pretty good (you can do a bunch of stuff with the trial version itself). Not affiliated with them in any way. [0]: https://balsamiq.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Is there software for building out copywriting for a website?
Balsamiq has been pretty good for me so far. It's super bare-bones so it's better for copy mockups than actual UX design. It's also a lot easier than Figma. Note that you don't have to use the default comic sans, but I do because it's funny. Source: over 1 year ago
