For anyone looking for actually free, no strings attached (and no subscription) camping, check https://freecampsites.net/ instead. It's a community wiki of free camp sites, usually on federal lands of various sorts (National Forests and BLM lands often have primitive campsites with fire rings and not much else). It's great for travel around national parks, especially. But please do leave no trace, pack out what... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
The water is the hard part unless you're fine camping with lots of people. Then I'll agree that Parker Canyon Lake, Madera Canyon or Patagonia are good for this. Without the water there are some great quiet spots outside of Tombstone or west along the i8. You can find them here: https://freecampsites.net/. Source: 11 months ago
For camping in camp grounds, you can google that. For camping in the wilderness use http://freecampsites.net. Crime is in all of the cities. Portland just hits the news more. Recluses are known to stay in a location long-term without dispersing much. If you search your garage and house, you should be able to easily find some more. You should get in touch with your county extension office and send them specimens, and also record your observations on iNaturalist or BugGuide. Source: 12 months ago
iNaturalist is a website run by various scientific/educational entities that is a database of observations by ordinary people (not just scientists at work). You upload photos and add geographic location and what taxon the organism belongs to, and you can also add notes and useful metadata. Source: about 1 year ago
You can try online databases like this one, or inaturalist.org, but I've had the most luck just posting the images on here and hoping they get recognized. Source: about 1 year ago
Also join with https://inaturalist.org community. Several ebird app users too in Kerala. Source: about 1 year ago
