Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. I'd like to get the Leroux novel in the original French (I know it's on gutenberg.org, which is great but I'd like a paper one too), but there are so many editions out there, many of which are either self-published by randos or are in simplified French.
