I usually channel all the energy from the typo itch into looking at fonts and researching in local archives and books instead of buying fonts. This is mainly because I do work in Typo design. Of course, like you, sometimes I keep coming back to a certain typeface or font family that I yearn to use in graphic design or for a website. There is a neural network tool that is supposed to help you pair fonts: https://fontjoy.com/. I don't find it always works particularly well, but if you keep generating it can give you some ideas on which to pair with it (you can choose a font and lock it in). Source: about 1 year ago
