It's like hotel rooms, there's the "rack rate" which is the full retail price, then there's the price you actually pay because you used AAA or Orbitz or Priceline or any one of a dozen methods of getting a better price. Sure, you can complain that hotels should just charge one low price so that customers don't have to jump through hoops to get the best price, but if you want the best price then you'll have to do...
