Bank account linking is not like account linking for any other website (eg. When you link your Google account to reddit). When you put your username/password into Questrade to link Tangerine, you are giving your credentials to a third party, https://flinks.com/, and they're signing in to your account in an automated way and scraping the information on the web page. The Sort API allows us to look at individual blockchain transactions, or even perform millisecond aggregations (average, sum, etc, useful for charting).
