Fission VS SoX

Would be curious if anyone has used Rouge Amoeba's Fission. I've seen it many times and thought about buying it but end up just using Logic to edit things. Source: about 1 year ago

I use AudioHijack to capture audio on a Mac from various programs, and Fission to edit the audio. Both programs are for pay, and I already had them before I started making flashcards. To get the WAV file, some of the ways are using sox and running the command sox -e signed-integer -b 16 -r 16k -c 1 out.raw out.wav, or writing a python script using the wave library. Source: 10 months ago

Also sox can be handy for just audio. You can't beat ffmpeg in general, finding the right command options and testing can take time but with any of them it's worth building up your toolkit. Source: 11 months ago

SoX is great for 99% of command-line audio work. The documentation can be tough to follow (and sometimes just missing or wrong), but once you wrap your head around the syntax and chaining effects together it is impressive what you can do. Source: about 1 year ago
