  • American hospitals are mandated by law to post prices online, and there are free tools to help budget and price compare before you go
But luckily there are some tools to make this much more easily searchable, I've been using Finestra Health although their range is limited (there's a map on the site) but they seem to be expanding quickly. It's a free and easy way to make sure you're not getting screwed. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Want to know how much a medical procedure will cost? Don't wait until you get your bill, look it up online before and see if you can find a better price
Others have created some tools to make this searchable, I've been using Finestra Health although they're not everywhere yet(check the map) but they are expanding quickly. It's basically a free search engine. Super easy. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Last month, I posted a website some friends and I made to allow New Yorkers to see how much they may be charged in hospitals, now that US hospitals are required to publish their prices for medical procedures. I received some great feedback, so here is an update!
Last month, I posted here about a project that I had been working on with some friends: a search engine where anyone can see how much they may be charged for medical procedures. It uses over 1 million data points from 50 hospitals all across NYC (and the surrounding area). Source: over 1 year ago
  • YSK: There is a website where you can actually find out how much medical care at local hospitals before you go. The website is www.finestrahealth.com.
The site has a map that says its currently available in Boston, NYC, Chicago, San Fran, and LA but it seems to be growing. (I don’t remember seeing LA there when I checked on it yesterday.) Being able to find this info (and maybe shop around for the best price) will be so useful. Source: over 1 year ago

Let's start saying that a twitter user, Detective Mage, (@IKOTHERAINMAN), pointed out on twitter that a developer accidentally leaked Silent Hills, listing it in her resume on "the-dots.com".
