Datapacket.net Reviews

  1. Datapacket is a great host.

So in my opinion overall in all areas of their service include product prices they are okay. I recommend Datapacket solutions to new bloggers, and although the price is higher than most hosts, this one is worth the money and will leave you satisfied.

  2. top notch web host.

Operate a large e-commerce site, along with several other informational sites. Not only are there no interruptions in service the support team at DataPacket web host is top notch. Fast load, high uptime and just superprofessional support will make your hosting time the finest, no matter what time of site you have and which account your are going to have. I recommend them highly!

  3. Excellent value hosting packages.

Will be with DataPacket for a long time. Excellent value hosting packages and a service that I cannot fault, plus a sense of humour. I do not care if they are not the cheapest. I mostly use emails on my domain name rather then web site itself, but it seems that both working good. Uptime 100%, fast support team, fast servers. Think that I found my provider and I hope that will be same good for the next year as well.

If you have a BGP peering with you ISP/upstream provider, ask them if they have a blackhole community you can broadcast to. Usually they are ASN:666. The only downside is you would only be able to advertise your IP address to that, essentially killing your internet (if that's your only IP) as long as the block is up. We usually set our filter to 15 minutes and most attackers give up after that. At this level, you... Source: 11 months ago
  • Processing netwflow data
Have you looked at fastnetmon ? It's freemium and It looks like the commercial version would work you, but I think the community edition is aslo worth a look. It's primary function is to detect DDOS attacks, but it can export data in ways that might be useful to you. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • WAN Attacks is it just whack-a-mole?
To mitigate DoS attacks means you need information - preferably before the users start screaming. Running sampling on your edge router with something like Fastnetmon will give you alerting of a probable DDoS attack before it becomes a significant problem. Source: over 2 years ago
