This sort of thing comes up all the time. I remember back in the VB6 days experts-exchange.com was full of questions like, "how do I put 2.5 million rows in a listview quickly?" and the answer, of course, is "you don't; nobody is going to scroll through 2.5 million rows.". The /r/science subreddit is decent, metafilter.com is sometimes a noteworthy aggregator. I have seen a lot of inconvenient-news sorts of things show up on The Guardian, although I've heard them increasingly criticized along some axes. Of course there's the /r/covid19 subreddit here that has only the most sciencey of science news here. The /r/medicine subreddit is a good place to gauge medical industry impact. ...
