Whatever safe bed you can find at this point. You've left it too late to be picky and it's looking like it's going to be the start of the the busiest, boomiest tourist season here in Italy ever. Expect to have to stay very, very, very far from city centers and transit connections or to pay $400+/night on a place. France from London is easy by Eurostar; best to go to their own website eurostar.com/ Paris is a simple journey from London St Pancras International. The rest of France is also efficently served by train but obviously the distance from Paris adds to journey time.
