The person who made Haxe (Nicolas Canesse) went on to found Shiro Games (https://shirogames.com), a game development company. I believe all their games are made in Haxe. The latest one, "Dune: Spice Wars" was released this September and Google says the engine is HashLink (https://hashlink.haxe.org/) which is a VM for Haxe. The term "Rogue-lite" in 2013 was coined by the developers of "Rogue Legacy" to market their game, as instead of true permadeath, in-between runs you would be able to spend resources to get persistent upgrades, like health, damage increases, and unlock new classes (what people nowadays tend to call "meta-progression").
