Very useful program, but god the UI is so bad.. As if it was designed for a touchscreen interface, and yet still poorly done, doesn't respect your aspect ratio, wastes ton of empty space, and the transition animation looks jarring Gnome UX is killing the linux fun to me.. I personally prefer safecopy. It can do a coarse read first, then try more reads on damaged sectors. If you have a spinning rust drive that you had to put in the freezer to get it to work, that lets you get most data out without wasting repeated effort on unreadable sectors.
