emailvalidation.io is a powerful and reliable email address validation service designed to help businesses reduce bounce rates and improve email deliverability.
Our comprehensive email verification service can quickly check if an email address is valid and deliverable, allowing you to identify invalid or undeliverable emails before they reach your subscribers. Our advanced algorithms detect typos, formatting errors, invalid domains, and deactivated accounts, helping you achieve optimal email deliverability.
With emailvalidation.io, you can easily verify the validity of any email address in real-time by simply entering it into our user-friendly interface. Our system will then scan the address against a number of checks to determine whether it is legitimate or not. We use over 30 different criteria to validate emails, including MX records, SMTP server connection verification, and syntax checks for correct formatting.
If an address passes our tests, we will provide you with detailed information about the recipient including their country of origin and other associated data such as social media profiles and website visits. This helps ensure that your messages are reaching the right people at the right time so that you don’t waste valuable resources sending messages to inactive accounts or non-existent addresses.

The point is not about ideological debates, making money from GPL software is purely a practical business decision. Many people are doing it, see e.g. https://reacher.email/ (written in Rust btw). Source: almost 2 years ago
I run an open-source [1] email verification API, called Reacher. I managed to hit 10k ARR this year (1st year). It's written in Rust, self-hostable, and does not use a DB of emails (like some competitors do). Landing page: https://reacher.email. On your site (https://reacher.email) it shows "Open-Source" next to the MIT logo. To any reasonable person, that means "it's licensed under the MIT license". Instead, it's licensed under the AGPL. It would be good if you changed it to remove the implication that it was MIT licensed. - Source: Hacker News / almost 4 years ago
This feels like a service that would be used by shoddy email marketers and spammers to reduce the number of bad emails they send, so that they can avoid being blocked. Their home page (https://reacher.email/) mentions lists uses like cleaning "large lists", which comes off to me as code for "send mail of dubious quality without tripping alarms". - Source: Hacker News / almost 4 years ago
You may want to use regex, or a library for email, or something like https://reacher.email/. Source: almost 4 years ago
