  • free low spec games (any)
Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup. Free roguelike with lots of options, but uncomplicated. You can run it on just about anything. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What's your #1 comfort game? THE one you can't wait to play after a long day and that you keep coming back to regardless of how many years pass.
Also, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a decent pick. It's free, so hard to beat the price. There's also no music or audio at all, which means I can listen to my own music or a podcast while I rampage through the dungeon as a Troll Berzerker, pulling apart goblins like they're made of monkey bread. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Old games to play with lofi music in the background
Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is a good one. It is a classic-style roguelike that does not feature sound effects or music of its own. I will frequently queue up podcasts to listen to while I take a run or two. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Singleplayer/offline games for a week or two without internet that you can actually finish (not endless)? [PC]
If you're down for an older-style roguelike, Dungeon Crawl: Stone Soup is free and it's optimal for a keyboard that has a 10-key (numpad) for movement. There is an endgame, but it takes a lot of luck and doing to reach it. I just poke at the game on occasion to see how far I get. Never been within any reasonable distance of the end. • [Steam] Rift Wizard (25% off / $11.24)
DCSS or Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup as it's known in full is considered to be one of the best roguelikes out there. DCSS originally released in 2006, it's a fork ofLinley's Dungeon Crawl aka. Crawl (1997) which again is based of off modified NetHack code (1987). Source: over 2 years ago

  • Can anyone recommend me games that feature some peaceful but empty areas with melancholic vibe of loneliness? Preferably the game's world is harsh, but those places helps give the players some feeling of peace after the storm.
Yes! Thank you, seems like they’ve updated it a lot since I’ve last played. Link. Source: over 1 year ago
  • That shit go hard
First, [CANABALT](http://canabalt.com/) released. CANABALT was one of the first games made by Adam Saltsman who now runs Finji (Overland, Night in the Woods, etc.). But CANABALT itself was a very simple game—a 2d endless runner that had you jumping from rooftop to rooftop in a John Wick-style suit, hoping to escape an alien invasion. The game itself was nothing more than a more-stylish Flappy Bird, but the... Source: over 2 years ago
  • My History in programming pt1: Meteorology
The final project of the article was to remake the Canabalt game, using the SDL library. Good thing it was optional, because I couldn't do it ... But it gave me a good idea of how to program event oriented. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
