Until know I've been using on Linux dottorrent-gui (which is a gui for dottorrent obviously) and it has been an awesome experience, I can make a torrent with high piece size when needed (up to 64mb) and I can input a lot of public trackers (based on this listing) . Source: about 2 years ago

As has been said, K/s is an indication of transfer speed, and the default SLSK client does not keep track of transferred data for you. However, as there's never a bad time for a Nicotine+ plug, that does keep such stats, both for session and total transfer. Source: 12 months ago
Please be careful, there are some fake versions of the slsk client out there and they are confirmed malware. The official Soulseek website is http://www.slsknet.org/. There was a previous domain, but Nir (slsk's founder) lost control of it many years ago. I suggest you download a version of the client from this page or better yet download a copy of the third party client Nicotine+. N+ is updated far more... Source: about 1 year ago
Soulseek is a P2P service, yes, use a client like nicotine+ that is much more modern, and in my opinion, more usable than the default client. Source: over 1 year ago
