  • How lucky/laid off
There are lots of places where all you have to do is upload your music, and the website will distribute/release it across a ton of platforms (Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music etc.) I've used a place called DistroKid to do it, but there are a few others out there that do the same kind of deal. • Can someone walk me through the issues i’m dealing with? 15s video is linked showing the issue, as it is difficult to describe in text. Thanks in advance.
Have you tried opening https://distrokid.com in a new tab or the iOS app? Or tried opening it on a computer instead of a phone? DistroKid’s website isn’t really set up very well for phone use when you need to set up your account or upload music. Source: 11 months ago
  • Where would the first place the new song would be released?
I’m checking with Dashon again today to see if he knows why the song isn’t on YouTube or Spotify yet, but it’s all up to https://distrokid.com/ at this point. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Making money on Sporify with AI?
Then you can upload it using ( https://distrokid.com/ ). You can create mixes on youtube or Spotify and make some passive income. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Weird question about Spotify and Soundcloud.
I recommend looking into a service called Distrokid that serves as a publishing house for independent musicians/bands. As you've probably read about, publishing is the crux of many tragic stories among songwriters and bands. Distrokid is one of a few service providers that streamlines the rights management and distribution of original material to the major platforms and streaming services. If you've recorded... • What apps do you use to save money? (USA)
Musicolet. It's a free music player app. It let's my organize all my music (downloaded onto my SD card) and play it without ads. I ended up spending $5 to get the premium version for crossfade and other features. Originally found it after my student discount spotify +Hulu plan ran out. I canceled spotify and use the lowest tier of Hulu ($2.15 per month with a student discount) now. Way cheaper than paying $10+... Source: 5 months ago
  • Google is putting the final nail in Android 4.4 KitKat's coffin
KitKat was so good that I'm still rocking it on a NoteⅣ for offline maps and music in my car even though there are newer official updates available from Smasnug: https://i.imgur.com/AhYJSYP.jpg The newest version of Musicolet still supports it! https://krosbits.in/musicolet/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • YouTube tests blocking videos unless you disable ad blockers
Yeah I do similar, I actually use musicolet to listen to my offline music library (https://krosbits.in/musicolet), an android app that is just offline, no ads, no network permission at all, nothing. It does the job very well and it does not mine any data or show any ads. I highly recommend to give it a try (I assume you use android?). And to add, while it is free and I could have continued just fine not paying... - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
